A few things you didn’t know were right by Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain

For those of us who have been to Disneyland Resort, no doubt Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is probably one of your favorite rides (unless, for some reason, you don’t like roller coasters or are just plain crazy). I know it’s one of my favorite rides, and the recent refurbishment I thought gave it a fresh new twist at the end (which I loved). But, did you know that Big Thunder shares a few cool things right near by that some people don’t even know about?

UPDATE (1-19-2016): Well, it was fun while it lasted. A lot of this post is outdated now due to Disney’s construction for Star Wars Land. A lot of Big Thunder Ranch has been removed to make room.

Positivity Challenge Disney Style – Day 2

I decided to add a little twist to this whole Positivity Challenge thing by infusing a Disney flavor to it. You can see my day 1 here. Without further a do, let’s start my 2nd day of picks with something everyone can relate to…

Positivity Challenge Disney Style – Day 1

Ok, so no doubt you’ve seen that the positivity challenge thing is making the rounds on your Facebook. I’m going to have a dedicated Disney-version of this here on my blog where for the next five days, I outline three Disney “things” that make me super happy. It’s going to be tough narrowing it down to fifteen total but it should be fun. These are in no particular order, by the way, because that would be a bit tough to do each day off the cuff. Without further ado, let’s kick off day one with something delicious and refreshing…

Rip and Replace Maelstrom for Frozen?

Update: As of October 6th, 2014, Maelstrom is officially closed until it re-opens as the Frozen ride in 2016.

No doubt you’ve heard the news today that Maelstrom is going to be replaced with a Frozen ride. The potentially good news is that Disney used the word “replace” instead of something like “enhance” and the ride will not reopen for at least another 18 months. That means that hopefully we’ll get a major overhaul to house Frozen, instead of the pretty lame enhancement to Pirates, for example, where they just stuck Captain Jack Sparrow in a few random places. At least the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurbishment in Disneyland had a lot of pizazz, so hopefully this will the minimum bar set for Maelstrom.

Five major changes I’d love to see at Disneyland Resort’s Tomorrowland

The addition of Cards Land has definitely helped invigorate California Adventure in the way that I think Disney originally hoped it would be. Anytime California Adventure gets better, Disneyland Resort as a whole gets better, too, but I think it’s time Disneyland itself enjoyed a few major overhauls. For this particular article I am going to focus only on the things I think could really use some attention in Tomorrowland. So without further ado, these are the five major changes I’d love to see at Disneyland Resorts’ Tomorrowland:

Why Do People Wait In Massively Long Lines?

Between Anna & Elsa at Disney parks and the new Harry Potter World at Universal, I continue to find myself flabbergasted by how many people wait in ridiculous lines. I have seen pictures and read reports that have literally made my jaw drop.

Quick Review of Refurbished Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland

I recently go to head to Disneyland for a day with my lovely girlfriend, Leslie. We were there in May 2013 and were pretty bummed that Thunder Mountain was closed for a (long) refurbishment, so we were pretty stoked when we returned in May 2014 and it had reopened.
