Splash Mountain retheme: CONFIRMED!

It’s official – Disneyland and Walt Disney World versions of Splash Mountain will be rethemed to The Princess and the Frog. Personally, I think this is a GREAT idea, and I am glad Disney did it. Why do I feel that way? Here’s more…

Missing Disneyland? Me too!

What are you missing most about Disneyland right now? Probably everything! Missing Disneyland is how we’re all feeling right now. Even with the parks opening, many of us won’t be able to go (or are opting not to for now).

Either way, there are so many things to miss about Disney Parks right now, and I wanted to do a little video on what I’m missing most. But with a twist: picking categories at random and giving my answer on the fly. If you’re missing Disneyland, too, I’d love to hear your answers to these questions as well — leave a comment!

What are the best things to do on Main Street USA in Disneyland?

What are the best things to do on Main Street USA in Disneyland? Where do you find the best food on Main Street? How can I incorporate Main Street into my Disneyland planning? How can I make sure I don’t miss anything on Main Street?

These are all great questions, and the truth is most people don’t know how to answer them. In fact, many people treat Main Street USA at Disneyland like an entrance and exit, without knowing about all the great things that you can do right there as soon as you enter Disneyland.

In this video, we’ll cover:

  • Main Street USA’s best restaurants, attractions, and shops.
  • Special ‘protips’ on how you can do Main Street USA like a total pro.
  • Where to find first aid or help with your babies if you need it on Main Street USA.
  • Some fun Main Street USA history that you can impress your friends with.

If you could only ride the Matterhorn or Radiator Springs Racers, which would you pick?

How do you pick what Disneyland rides to do? How do Disneyland rides compare? If you only had time for one more, how do you pick? In this edition of Disney Duel, we help you pick between the Matterhorn in Disneyland and Radiator Springs Racers in California Adventure!

For every Disneyland Ride Duel, I use my (not) patented DISNEY DORK TOM RIDE SCORE formula, where I compare each ride across a number of key areas including: LOCATION, QUEUE, AVERAGE WAIT TIME, AMBIANCE, EXCITEMENT, ENJOYMENT, and NOSTALGIA. Each ride ends up with a DDT RIDE SCORE ouf of 50 points and we see who the winner is.

Craving Dole Whips? Maybe this will help…

We’re all craving our favorite Disney snacks right now. Do you miss Disney’s Dole Whips? I sure do! So when I saw Taco Bell had a Pineapple Whip Freeze on their menu I knew I had to try it! Would it be good, let alone like a Dole Whip? Time to find out!

Disneyland Duel: Matterhorn v. Star Tours

Is the Matterhorn too bumpy? Does Star Tours give you motion sickness? We’ll answer these and other questions in our third DISNEYLAND DUEL, where we pit two random attractions against each other. Then I rate them for Location, Queue, Wait Times, Ambiance, Excitement, Enjoyment, and Nostalgia. At the end, we crown a winner!

Today we see who wins between the MATTERHORN and STAR TOURS, two Disneyland classics which are within a stone’s throw of each other. Let’s see who wins in this turbulent Disneyland attraction duel!

Disney World reopening in July! What we know and what we don’t…

Disney just announced some reopening dates for Disney World in Florida. JULY 11TH, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom would re-open. Then JULY 15TH Hollywood Studios and EPCOT will open, too. Disney Springs is already open, and I suspect the water parks will stay closed longer because crowds are more contained and germs seem easier to spread in that environment.

Obviously, there are a bunch of rules and guidelines we’ll all have to follow. Things like wearing masks, temperature checks, social distancing. Apparently some kind of (as yet to be revealed) park reservation system. Parades, fireworks, character dining are on hold, too, since they want to avoid crowds however possible. Lots more to consider though, some of which I cover in more detail here:

Can Big Thunder Mountain help you pass Kidney Stones? Maybe…

On this week’s THE SCOOP PART II, let’s talk about Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We’ll talk petting zoos, kidney stones, computers, and more as we give you a quick lesson on the attraction’s history (and a super helpful protip, too).
