How to Properly Budget for a Walt Disney World Trip

Budgeting is a huge part of planning a Walt Disney World Trip. With so many options and add-ons, knowing how much you have to spend is a crucial component to your pre-planning. What’s as important as how much you have to spend, though, is prioritizing what you really want to do on your trip. Do you want more days in the parks, or a nicer hotel? Do you want to snack around the parks, or enjoy fine dining?

These are all trade offs that are crucial to understand as you allocate your budget. Below is a list of the things you should consider (and estimated price ranges where it makes sense) while you try and hash out the perfect trip around a reasonable budget:

Which Walt Disney World Park is best for a 5 year old?

Let me preface this by admitting I am not an expert in 5-year old’s, and whether or not your child is a boy or a girl may have a bit of an impact. But I was recently asked this question on Quora, and I thought it was interesting enough to post here, too. Here are the questions I’d ask to pick a park if I was bringing a 5 year old:

Pop Century Resort at Walt Disney World: A Review

I was in the Walt Disney World area again a few weeks ago for a work event, so of course I convinced a few of my colleagues to visit my favorite place with me. To keep costs down for everyone, we decided to stay at the Pop Century Resort, which is one of the value resorts. I’ll judge every resort on property with the same rubric, so that scores are consistent, but be sure to read the details for score details. Let’s see what I thought…

Free Dining (Lite) Promotion Summer 2016

Disney has announced a Summer Meal Offer promotion for 2016 at Walt Disney World. It does not quite have the same pizzazz as the more famous Fall Free Dining Promotions, but it could still save you some coin given how pricey Quick Service Meals can still be.

Debunking some common criticisms from Disney World skeptics

Right off the bat let’s agree on one thing: Walt Disney World is NOT for everyone. I totally get that, and honestly, if it really isn’t your thing then I don’t want to convince you to go… because then you may just end up ruining my trip! But, there are complaints that I hear all the time from people who haven’t been there, or who have been there but had a bad experience and wrote Disney World off entirely. Today I’d like to debunk a few of the criticisms that I consider unfair…
